Rita is a native Texan from El Paso. She was born with the
Muscalaro Apache heritage. Rita started painting when she was
12 years old and hasn't stopped since! She has been selling her
award winning items for the last 20 years. Some of her items
consist of feathers, bones, beads, and other non-ceramic items.
Her influences range from Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and
California.
While her passion is Native American jewelry and Southwest
ceramic, she has recently added holiday pieces to her collections.
Since everything Rita makes is all done by hand, no two pieces are
exactly alike. Examples of her pieces can be viewed the left of this
page.
"Flying Cat Productions"
Being a "cat person" is just part of her personality, so what makes
more sense then to incorporate the warm and fuzzy creatures in
her work? Susan likes to use recycled items with her candle
holders. By using these natural materials with a mixture of
textures and colors, this allows her items to each have a flare of
whimsical as well as the unexpected!
